MINDFULNESS WALK, AUTUMN TWILIGHT
MINDFULNESS WALK, AUTUMN TWILIGHT
For Andrea, My M.E. Friend in California
I will arise and go now,
And go to Elmwood
Park.
And a gentle amble
have there,
Mindful, in the
dark.
This is my green
cathedral -
Its grand avenue,
the nave,
Its trees are soaring columns -
Here I find the calm
I crave.
The congregation's
very small,
Scampering squirrels
and me.
I love the solace of
solitude,
And the quietude that is
to “be”.
I walk gently,
slowly, mindfully,
Bodily pain, and
strain increase.
Then home,
physically weary,
But with a mind much
more at peace.
