LOCKDOWN LIFE .... 2
LOCKDOWN LIFE ... 2
"My" Park
Every few days, if I am able,
I try to walk up - and down! - our street.
Waving to people, from a social distance,
The nearest we get to meet and greet.
I walk alongside my beloved park,
On lockdown, too, sad to say.
I miss my walks, in dappled shade,
But it will open again, one day.
The grass, left unmown, is long and lush,
Blue, white and yellow speckle the green.
Squirrels skedaddle, scamper and scatter......
The park is theirs! No people are seen.
The park's a retreat, a lifeline, salvation.
And, right now, it's somewhere I'd quite like to be.
But, it will still be there, when lockdown is lifted,
And, then, I will visit "my" redwood tree!
