DUCKLINGS

For Emmy

Ducklings are delightful,

Delicious and divine.

Little, yellow balls of fluff,

I wish that they were mine.

I'd like to keep them with me,

Not let them grow at all,

I’d like them always fluffy,

And very sweet and small.

I know that this won't happen,

And, one day, I’ll be alone,

Because ducklings must grow up

And have ducklings of their own.
