TO KATHY AND BRITTA

Kathy and Britta are dear, good friends,

Though we’ve not known each other that long.

We each have varied health conditions,

So I suppose, in a sense, we sing the same song.

We’re very different in interests and ages.

Kathy’s the gardener, and cocktail-shaker.

Britta’s the talented equestrian.

And I’m the poet and card-maker.

I appreciate friends who are empathetic,

Who understand the problems faced every day.

It would be lovely to see you more often.

I do wish you didn’t live so far away.

For “normal” people, it’s not that far,

But a marathon for Britta and me!

I do so hope we can catch up soon.

We’re well overdue some cakes, chat and tea!!
