Did you know that hares box?

I'm told that they do.

How I'd love to see it ...

And so, I’m sure, would you.

Do they take opposite corners ...

In a little boxing-ring?

Do they wear glitzy shorts ...

Tied up with coloured string?

Do they have boxing-gloves ...

Made of soft leather?

The gloves must be so tiny ...

And as light as a feather.

How I'd love to see them ...

When walking in a wood ...

Limbering up to box ...

Now, wouldn’t that be good?

They wouldn't hurt each other ...

They only box for fun ...

They do it for the exercise ...

And just to get some sun.

I'd love to see them boxing ...

In the light of the sun's beams ...

But, really, I think the only way ...

Would be in one of my dreams!!
