GRATEFUL FOR SMALL MERCIES ... ??

The last four months have been really dreadful ...

Maybe, one day, I'll write a poem to explain ...

And, now, recently, several distressing episodes:
Severe tachycardia and much-increased pain ...

But, isn't it strange how Life's expectations lessen?

Did someone say that: "Gratitude's an art"??

I'm now very grateful for pain at "normal"

levels ...

And very, very thankful for a calmed-down, quietened heart!

BUT ... at the same time, I think it's sad ... frankly tragic ...

And I need to say this ...

I need to make plain ...

That life should have pleasures ...

And positive presences ...

And not merely be defined by

An absence of pain ...
